Lull - Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Lull: Sleep Aid & Fan ("App", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices when you use the App. By using the App, you consent to our collection and use of information as described here.

2. What We Collect

2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect

Lull does not collect, store, or transmit:

Personal account information (no login, sign-up, or accounts)
User listening history or playback data
Location data
Device identifiers (UDID, MAC address, etc.)
Health or medical data
Contact information, emails, or phone numbers

2.2 Data Collected by Third Parties

The App includes third-party services that may collect data:

Google AdMob (Advertising)

When ads are displayed in the free version of the App, Google may collect:

Advertising Identifier (IDFA) — Apple's identifier for advertising, used only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission
Device model, OS version, and app usage patterns
General location (country/region level only)
Ad impression and interaction data

This data is used to show you more relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device's privacy settings, and you can disable personalized ads by purchasing the "Remove Ads" or "Pro" product.

Apple (In-App Purchases & App Tracking Transparency)

Purchase information is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store
We do not receive payment details or full purchase records
App Tracking Transparency consent is managed by Apple

2.3 App Data

The App stores the following locally on your device:

Your last-played fan sound selection
Last-used fan speed
Sleep timer settings (your fade-out preference)
Volume level
Audio mix preference (mix with other audio, yes/no)
In-app purchase entitlements (what you've bought)

All of this data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2.4 Remote Catalog Data

The App periodically fetches an updated list of fan sounds from our servers. This fetch includes no personal data—only a request for the catalog manifest file. The servers log which IP addresses fetch the catalog (standard web server logs), but these are not tied to you personally.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide the App: Running the app, generating sounds, displaying ads, and managing purchases.
To improve the App: Understanding which features are used (via aggregate, non-personal data from AdMob and app usage patterns).
For advertising: Google uses your data to show relevant ads (only in the free version).
To comply with law: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only data shared is with Google AdMob for advertising (IDFA and app usage only, if you granted tracking permission). All other data is kept local to your device.

5. Data Retention

Data stored on your device persists until you delete the App. Web server logs (standard HTTP logs from catalog fetches) are retained for standard periods (typically 7–30 days depending on server configuration) and are not tied to any personal identifier.

6. Security

We employ reasonable security measures to protect data transmitted over the network (HTTPS for catalog fetches). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of any data transmitted over the internet.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access what data we hold about you (which is minimal)
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of advertising personalization

Since we collect very little data and do not maintain user accounts, most of this is managed through your device settings or by contacting us directly.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

When you first use the App, iOS will ask for permission to track your activity across other apps and websites. This permission controls whether your IDFA is shared with Google AdMob for personalized advertising. You can change this setting at any time in Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold. Since Lull does not sell data and collects minimal personal information, your main rights center on:

Right to know: contact us to ask what data we have
Right to delete: we can delete any local records we maintain
Right to opt out of the sale of personal information: we do not sell data

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.

13. Data Protection Officer / Privacy Inquiry Response Time

We aim to respond to privacy inquiries within 30 days. Given the minimal data collection in this App, most inquiries can be resolved quickly.
